Text Resizing

Small or large text problems?

As part of the re-design of The Computer Mechanic Website there were a number of accessibility issues that had to be addressed.

One of these was the consideration of people who prefered different sized text and partially sighted users and the ability for them to re-size the text using their browser, to enable them to view each page clearly. It would appear that while we have included this functionality to the site, some users have already set their text-size to a small setting and this is causing problems when viewing the site.

To reset your text settings please click on your browser version below:

INTERNET EXPLORER

Select the 'View' menu item.

Internet Explorer 6 text resizing

Select the 'Text Size' menu item.

The default text setting is 'Medium'.

Alter your selection to increase or reduce the size of the text.

MOZILLA FIREFOX

Select the 'View' menu item.

Mozilla Firefox text resizing

Select either 'Increase Text Size' or 'Decrease Text Size' menu items.

Alter your selection to increase or reduce the size of the text.

MOZILLA

Select the 'View' menu item.

Mozilla text resizing

Select 'Text Zoom (100%)' menu item.

100% is the default setting.

Alter your selection to increase or reduce the size of the text.

NETSCAPE

Select the 'View' menu item.

Netscape text resizing

Select 'Text Zoom (100%)' menu item.

100% is the default setting.

Alter your selection to increase or reduce the size of the text.

OPERA

Select the 'View' menu item.

Opera text resizing

Select 'Zoom' menu item.

100% is the default setting.

Alter your selection to increase or reduce the size of the text.

MACINTOSH

Select the 'View' menu item.

Macintosh text resizing

Select the 'Text Size' menu item.

The default text setting is 'Medium'.

Alter your selection to increase or reduce the size of the text.

AOL BROWSER USERS

Select 'My AOL', then 'Preferences' and click the 'WWW' icon. In 'Advanced Settings', select 'Browser Display' and choose an appropriate text size.
